ORVIdetect – qPCR

We offer quantitative ORVIdetect analyses for the measurement of specific types and properties of bacteria. These analyses use qPCR technology to determine the number of cells in environmental samples. The table at the end of the page provides an overview of available analyses, our standard turnaround time is five business days.

Procedure
We will send you the correct sampling material so that you can take samples yourself (or let them be taken). The bottles contain a preservative so that the samples are fixed immediately and do not have to be cooled after sampling or during transport. A sample registration form is included for fast and easy handling of the samples by our laboratory. After receipt of the samples by Orvion you will be sent the analysis results digitally within five business days.
Analytical technique
Our bacteriological counts use the qPCR technique whereby microorganisms are detected and quantified based on their genetic material (DNA or RNA). More information about our qPCR analysis procedure can be found here vinden.
Designing new analyses
Orvion designs and validates new ORVIdetect analyses in-house and for this purpose we have developed “primer design software”. If your analysis is not on the list, please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
